Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:02/06/13 Location:Garage Roof Condition:Employees installing asphalt shingles on a 6/12 sloped roof were exposed to falls as great as 16 feet to compacted soil when they utilized vertical lifelines as part of personal fall arrest systems that were tied and knotted around an exposed roof truss. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard is to comply with ANSI/ASSE A10.32-2004 Section 3 General Requirements: 3.7.3 Knots are not allowed in lifelines, lanyards or other direct-impact components.ct
