Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:05/02/13 Condition:Employees were pouring ready-mix concrete, a corrosive, and were not provided suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body on site. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to have an eyewash that provides at least 15 minutes of continuous flow that complies with American National Standards Institute (ANSI Z358.1, "Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment"). Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
