Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:03/14/14 Location:West Side of Building Condition:Employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed/struck by collapsing roof trusses due to inadequate bracing techniques. (b)Date of Violation:03/14/14 Location:West Side of Building Condition:Employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed/struck by falling roof trusses while hoisting due to inadequate rigging. Among other methods, one feasible means of abatement to correct this hazard is to install bracing and hoist trusses in accordance with the manufacturer's instruction and the Building Component Safety Information, BCSI-B1 Summary Sheet-Guide for Handling, Installing, Restraining, and Bracing of Trusses. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
