North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Tobacco farm operation located at 2694 Hester Road, Oxford- On 4/8/13 an employee cut his left leg above his knee while operating a STIHL 026 chain saw without the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) recommended when using this equipment. Abatement: One feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to wear the PPE recommended by the industry such as chaps/leg protection and eye wear protection.
