North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushed by hazards: a)facility, tire and lube express shop - employer did not ensure that inspections were conducted at least annually to ensure the reliability and safe operation of a Challenger Lifts brand, model MDT12, serial number - 061100000009161, vehicle lift. ABATEMENT NOTE: 1)Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to conduct and document periodic inspections of the lift in accordance with manufacturers recommendations. Reference:ANSI / ALI ALOIM-2000 American National Standard for Automotive Lifts Safety Requirements for Operation, Inspection, and Maintenance: 5.5 Qualified Inspection Frequency.
