North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees condit ions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that w ere causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in th at employees were exposed to: struck by hazards from unbraced trusses that were subject to collapse. a)job site - employees were exposed to unbraced trusses wit hin the primary and secondary gable roof systems, such as the truss system above the two car garage, that were not adequately braced by temporary lateral, diago nal, and exterior ground bracing. ABATEMENT NOTE: 1)Among other methods, one fea sible and acceptable abatement method to correct these hazards is to ensure that temporary truss bracing is designed and implemented by a qualified person in ac cordance with The Truss Plate Institute.
