North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards. a)facility - the employer did not conduct periodic inspections of a 2 ton and 5 ton capacity overhead crane which were used to lift aluminum coils. b)facility - the employer did not conduct periodic inspections of 4 monorail cranes that were used to lift metal baskets located at the mechanical power presses. c)facility - the employer did not load rate 4 monorail cranes that were used to lift metal baskets located at the mechanical power presses. ABATEMENT NOTE: 1)Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to inspect all cranes.
