Nevada Revised Statute 618.375(1): Duties of employers. Every employer shall furnish employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his or her employees: At Haig's Quality Printing, the employer did not furnish a place of employment free of recognized hazards when employees were exposed to storage racks that were not anchored down. This exposed employees to crushing injuries to include broken bones and/or death should the storage racks tip over and land on employees. In the printing area storage racks were not anchored down to prevent movement. Reference ANSI MH16.1, Paragraph 1.4.7. Reference ANSI MH16.1-2008, Specification for Design, Testing, and Utilization of Industrial Steel Storage Racks. Section 1.4.7. ONE FEASIBLE MEANS OF ABATEMENT WOULD BE TO FOLLOW ANSI MH16.1 PARAGRAPH 1.4.7 (ANCHOR STORAGE RACK TO THE FLOOR).
