Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or About 01/14/14 Location:Warehouse Condition:An employee was exposed to crush/struck-by hazards from collapsing steel storage racks that were accessed by a forklift and were not secured to the floor. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to follow ANSI MH16.1:2008, 1.4.7 Specification For The Design and Utilization of Industrial Steel Storage Racks. All rack columns shall be anchored to the floor with anchor bolts capable of resisting the forces caused by the horizontal and vertical loads on the rack.
