Condition:The employer provided a 32 ounce squeeze bottle of eyewash
solution to employees
using portland cement, a caustic having a pH of 12 or 13, instead of
suitable facilities
for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes in the immediate working area
for
emergency use.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard, is to install an eyewash that
provide a hands-free automatic eyewash station that provides not less than
15 minutes of continuous flush for
the quick drenching of the eyes and body in accordance with section 6.1.6
of
American National Standard
ANSI Z358.1-2009.
Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs,
training certification, etc.)
is required for this item.
