could not provide any water flow while employees removed broken and
cracked automotive batteries containing sulfuric acid from vehicles.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct
this hazard is
to provide an eyewash station that meets the requirements of American
National Standard for
Emergency Eye Wash and Shower Equipment Z358.1.5.4.5 Where the possibility
of freezing
conditions exist, the eyewash shall be protected from freezing or
freeze-protected equipment
shall be installed.
Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs,
training
certification, etc.) is required for this item.
