Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:05/08/14 Location:North of Building Condition:The portable emergency eyewash provided where employees used corrosive materials, such as Saylor's Portland & Lime Type S Masonry Cement, would not provide 15 minutes of continuous flushing since it was approximately half-full with solution. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide an emergency eyewash station that provides a minimal of 15 minutes of flush time which complies with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z358.1, "Emergency Eye Wash and Shower Equipment."
