Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or About 03/28/14 Location:Small Banquet Chemical Storage Room Condition:Employees dispensed CleanEdge Oven Cleaner 5726, a corrosive liquid, from 55- gallon drums into five-gallon and one-liter containers where personal eyewash bottles provided were not capable of supplying at least 15 minutes of continuous flushing. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to the correct the hazard is to comply with ANSI Z358.1 which states that the eye wash station must provide 15 minutes of continuous, hands-free flush. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
