Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:03/21/14 Location:First Floor, Center of Body Shop Condition:Employees used and dispensed corrosive Car Brite HOT STUFF Cleaner/Degreaser and AS Rims Wire Wheel Cleaner to clean vehicles in the detail bay, which was located approximately 54 feet away from the Bradley wall-mounted gravity fed emergency eyewash station which also had not been inspected or cleaned since October 8, 2013. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to comply with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z358.1, "Emergency Eye Wash and Shower Equipment." Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
