Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:02/28/14 Location:Sanitation Condition:An employee replaced a container of Ajax Expert Disinfectant Cleaner/Sanitizer concentrate, containing alkyldimethyl ammonium chloride, a corrosive, to wash containers, and was not provided with an eye wash capable of providing 15 minutes of continuous flushing. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide suitable facilities for quick drenching of the eyes that maintains 15 minutes of continuous flow in accordance with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z358.1-2009 "Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment."
