Nevada Revised Statute 618.375(1):  Duties of employers.  Every employer
shall furnish
employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized
hazards that are causing
or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his or her
employees:
Two steel storage racks located in the warehouse near the shipping and
receiving area
were used to store pallets of boxed material and were not secured to the
floor of the
building to prevent them from falling.  This potentially exposed employees
to possible
crushing injuries should items fall off the shelves or if the racks were
to tip over and
land on the employees.
Reference ANSI MH 16.1 Specification for Design, Testing, and Utilization
of Industrial
Steel Storage Racks.  Section 1.4.7 Column Base Plates and Anchors.  The
bottom of
all columns shall be furnished with column base plates, as specified in
Section 7.2.  All
rack column shall be anchored to the floor with anchor bolts capable of
resisting the
forces caused by horizontal and vertical loads on the rack.
One feasible means of abatement would be to follow ANSI MH 16.1 paragraph
1.4.7 (anchor
down racks).
