CFR 1910.22(b)(1): Where mechanical handling equipment was used, sufficient safe clearances were not allowed for aisles, at loading docks, through doorways and wherever turns or passage must be made. Aisles and passageways were not kept clear and in good repairs, with no obstruction across or in aisles that could create a hazard.    	(a)	U.S. Postal Service, 7755 East 56th Ave., Denver, CO 80217:  On and before April 27, 2011, the controlling employer did not ensure that sufficient safe clearances were maintained in the warehouse area for the inbound dock, specifically in the areas were turns or passages were required.  This was a result of the overflow of packages which spilled into the isles or passageways during peak working hours.  This condition exposed approximately 12 employees to struck by and caught between hazards from mechanized pallet jacks, fork lifts, and other propelled forms of package delivery at the USPS National Distribution Center.    Abatement Note:  Abatement certification is required for this item (See enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").

This condition exposed employees to struck by and caught between hazards from mechanized pallet jacks, fork lifts, and other propelled forms of package delivery at the USPS National Distribution Center.
