29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.    a) South side of the bridge's structure; On or about 4/27/11 and at times prior thereto, an employee assisting in constructing and/or stripping the forms of the webs between the precast concrete girders without connecting his lanyard to any of the horizontal lifelines.    b) South side of the bridge's structure; On or about 4/27/11 and at times prior thereto, employees that were constructing and/or stripping the forms of the webs between the precast concrete girders were disconnecting their single lanyards as they moved perpendicularly across the open girders from one horizontal wire cable lifeline to another.    Note: Abatement certification is NOT required for this item.    Idaho Construction Company, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard which was contained in OSHA inspection 309970689, Citation 01, Item 001a, and was affirmed as a final order on 9/24/2007 with respect to a workplace located at I-84 Linden Street Overpass, Mile Post 29, Caldwell, ID.
