29 CFR 1910.26(c)(3)(vii): The portable platform ladder was not being used for which it was intended: (a) U.S. Postal Service, 7755 E. 56th Ave., Denver, CO 80217: On and before May 5, 2011, the controlling and exposing employer did not ensure that the portable metal platform ladder was used as intended by the manufacturer. The ladder was used to gain access to the Alpha-2 and Alpha-4 container unloaders to perform maintenace. Employees were required to step off the ladders working platform, over the ladders guardrail on to the unloaders. This exposed employees to a fall hazard of approximately 12 feet.
