Each employee on a walking/working surface (hortizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.     	(a) Ozzie's Home Improvement, LLC, 215 W. 24th Street, Rifle, CO 81650:  On and before May 3, 2011, the controlling employer did not ensure that employees were protected from falls of greater than 6 feet. Specifically, three employees were observed walking and working on a 2-12 pitch roof where skylight covers were being installed.  This condition exposed the employee and subcontractors to fall hazards of over 10 feet.    Abatement Note:  Abatement certification is required for this item (See enclosed Sample Abatement-Certification Letter).

Specifically, one employee was witnessed standing over a skylight cover while using power tools to install the edges of the cover. This condition exposed employee to fall hazards of over 10 feet.
