29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11) Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrestsystems: (a) Custom Tile Roofing, Inc. at 1301 Quebec St. in Denver, CO: On and before April 25, 2011 each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected from falling in that two employees were installing a tile roof on an 8:12 pitch without fall protection. This condition exposed the emloyees to a fall hazard of up to approximately 30 feet. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement Certification Letter").

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards: (a) Custom Tile Roofing, Inc. at 1301 Quebec St. in Denver, CO: on and before April 25, 2011 the employer did not provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. Two employees were observed working on an 8:12 pitch roof installing tile and were not wearing fall protection. The employees had not received fall protection training. This condition exposed the employees to a fall hazard of up to approximately 30 feet. Abatement Note: The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed inorder to minimize these hazards. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement Certification Letter").
