29 CFR 1926.404(b)(1)(iii)(C): Each cord set, attachment cap, plug and receptacle of cord sets, and any equipment connectedby cord and plug, except cord sets and receptacles which are fixed and not exposed to damage, shall be visually inspected before each day's use forexternal defects, such as deformed or missing pins or insulation damage, and for indications of possible internal damage. Equipment found damaged ordefective shall not be used until repaired. a) On or about March 31, 2011, the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from electrical hazards while using an electrical extension cord to power a portable compressor where the electrical cord's plug did not have a ground prong. The foreman on site did not inspect the electrical cord prior to using it.
