Condition exposed employees to the hazards of projectiles to the eyes. Abatement note: Abatement certification is required for this item (See enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected from falling: a) Vergara, Elpidio dba Pipi's Constructions at 3279 Spruce Street, Denver, CO 80238: On or before 5/21/11, the creating, correcting, and exposing employer did not ensure that employees were protected from falling in the following instances: 1) two employees were walking on the top plate while setting trusses. Condition exposed employees to fall hazards of 30 feet to the basement, and 21 feet to the ground; and 2) four employees were working near an open landing on the main floor that was missing guardrails. Condition exposed employees to fall hazards of 9 feet to the basement. Abatement note: Abatement certification is required for this item (See enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").

29 CFR 1926.404(f)(6): The path to ground from circuits, equipment, or enclosures was not permanent and continuous: a) Vergara, Elpidio dba Pipi's Constructions at 3279 Spruce Street, Denver, CO 80238: On or before 5/21/11, the creating, correcting, and exposing employer did not ensure that employees were protected from electrical shock hazards in that the extension cord used to power the portable skilsaw and the sawzall inside the building was not grounded. The equipment was not double insulated, but the circuit was on a ground fault circuit interrupter. Condition exposed employees to electrical shock hazards. Abatement note: Abatement certification is required for this item (See enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").
