29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section. On June 6, 2011 at a worksite located at 154 E. St. Charles Road, Villa Park IL. An employee was working approximately 7.1 feet deep in an excavation without any cave-in protection. Exposing the employee to the hazards associated with a trench collapse. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d). Ron Janis DBA Private Sewer & Water Co. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.652 (a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 312726433, citation number 1, item number 5 and was affirmed as a final order on September 1st 2009, with respect to a workplace located at 414 N. Ardmore Villa Park, IL.
