29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Except as provided by paragraph (a)(3) of this section, each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, position device systems or fall restraint systems: a) On or about June 1, 2011, employees were exposed to falls in excess of 15 feet while welding on a ski lift without using fall protection. b) On or about June 1, 2011, employees were exposed to falls in excess of 15 feet an employee climbed onto the midrail of an aerial lift to weld on the ski lift Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").
