29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) East side of structure at roof edge; On or about 7/6/11 and at times prior thereto, employees installing an awning on the structure's facade were walking at/working from the roof's edge without a means of fall protection. b) Southwest and northeast corners of the structure at the existing canopy; On or about 7/6/11 and at times prior thereto, employees installing an awning on the structure's facade were walking at/working from the roof's edge without a means of fall protection. Note: Abatement certification is NOT required for this item.
