29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(5)(i): Non-self-supporting ladders were not used at an angle such than the horizontal distance from the top support to the foot of the ladder way approximately one-quarter of the working length of the ladder (the distance along the ladder between the foot and the top support): a) Vista Peaks Construction Management, Inc. at 400 Cook Street, Denver, CO 80206: On or before 7/23/11, the employer did not ensure that a ladder, used to modify the facia, was set up safely in that the ladder was sloped at 53 degrees instead of an angle such that the horizontal distance was about one-quarter of the working length of the ladder. Condition exposed employees to a fall hazard of about 12 feet. Abatement note: Abatement certification is required for this item (See enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").
