29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(2)(vii)(A): Contaminated needles and other contaminated sharps were bent, recapped, or removed:\\r\\n\\r\\nJuniper Park LP, dba Juniper Village at the Spearly Center, 2205 W 29th Avenue, Denver, CO 80211: On and preceding 8/17/11, Juniper Park LP did not ensure that contaminated sharps were not recapped.  Employees shaved residents at the long term health care facility using disposable razors.  The employees recapped the contaminated disposable razors prior to placing them in a sharps container.  The employer did not ensure that employees did not recap the contaminated sharps.  This condition exposed employees to a bloodborne pathogen hazard.

Nursing staff used syringes, lancets, and IV needles, including the Inviro Medical InviroSNAP safety syringe, during healthcare duties at a long term health care facility.  The bloodborne pathogens training program did not include an explanation of the use of medical devices used by nurses, including but not limited to the Inviro Medical InviroSNAP safety syringe.  This condition exposed employees to a bloodborne pathogen hazard.

Employees laundered clothing and linens contaminated with blood or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM).  One employee was spanish speaking.  The employer did not provide bloodborne pathogens training in spanish.  This condition potentially exposed one employee to a bloodborne pathogen hazard.

The employer provided bloodborne pathogens training.  The employer did not maintain bloodborne pathogens training records for all employees.
