29 CFR 1910.23(c)(3): Regardless of height, open-sided floors, walkways, platforms, or runways above or adjacent to dangerous equipment, pickling or galvanizing tanks, degreasing units, and similar hazards were not guarded with a standard railing and toe board. The employer did not install a guard that would prevent an employee from falling into a pit measuring 25" x 75" and heated between 320 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
