29 CFR 1910.23(d)(1): Every flight of stairs having four or more risers was not equipped with standard stair railings or standard handrails as specified in paragraphs (d)(1)(i) through (v) of this section, the width of the stair to be measured clear of all obstructions except handrails: On or about August 3, 2011, an employees in the pre-coat area was exposed to bruises and contusions from 4 feet high falls from a set of stairs with 4 raisers while performing crane operations, and the employer failed to effectively implement handrails. No abatement certification or documentation is required for this item.
