29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(ii): Employee training did not include the physical and health hazards of the chemicals in the work area: (a) Throughout the facility; Employees were not trained on the specific chemicals/by-products encountered in the workplace. 1. Employees in the urethane department worked with isocyantates on a daily basis; the hazard communication program training given to employees did not explain the hazards associated with isocyanate use or sensitizers as a general topic. 2. Employees in the welding department welded on carbon and stainless steel approximately 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and were unaware of the health hazards associated with welding. Air sampling conducted on 9/6/11 and 9/8/11 showed exposures to copper, iron oxide, and manganese.
