29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail systems, warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system: a) Curtis-McKinley Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc., Bryan, Ohio: On or about September 14, 2011, at the U.S. Army Reserve building located at address 630 Newdale Drive, Bryan, Ohio, the employer did not ensure the each employee engaged in roofing activities on a low sloped roof (2:12), with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet more above the lower level was protected from falling. Employees were exposed to falls of approximately 11 feet to the paved ground below, which could result in permanent disability or death.
