29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: (a) North side of Roof: On September 19, 2011, employees were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 11 feet when they walked up the north side a 5:12 roof without fall protection to gain access to their work area. (b) South Side of Roof: On September 19, 2011, employees were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 16 feet while working around a roof access point on the south side of the 5:12 roof without fall protection.
