OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1):     Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to _________.      a) At Star Kist Dock in Betty C fishing vessel, the bow fish well: On September 14, 2011 and at times thereto, employees inside the fish well of the vessel were exposed to ammonia gas when the metal fish basket for unloading fish slipped and damaged the refrigeration coils releasing the gas.       Under the Clean Air Act Section 112(r)(1), facilities, including anhydrous ammonia facilities of any size, have a general duty to prevent releases, and to minimize the consequences of accidental releases which do occur.  Implementing best practices helps facilities to comply with this law.
