29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrailsystem, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system: a.) On or about September 21, 2011 at the jobsite located at 8357 S. Cicero Avenue, Chicago, IL - Employees performing roofing activities, installing flashing, on a low slope roof were exposed to fall hazards due to unprotected sides, thereby exposing the employees to fall hazards of approximately seventeen (17) feet. The Crowther Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc. was previously cited for a violation for this Occupational Safety and Health Standard or its equivalent Standard, 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10), which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 311372387, Citation Number 1 Item Number 1 and was affirmed as final order on April 10, 2008 with respect to the workplace located at 19900 S. Harlem Avenue, Frankfort, IL 60423.
