29 CFR 1910.23(a)(2):     Ladderway floor opening(s) or platform(s) were not guarded by a standard railing with standard toeboard(s) on all exposed sides (except at the entrance to opening) with passage through the railing either provided with a swinging gate or so offset that a person could walk directly into the opening:    a)  Northern Partners Cooperative employees were exposed to fall hazards when working near the corn pit boot access as there were missing midrails and toeboards.  The fall distance from ground level to the boot floor is 11.4 feet.  The fall distance from ground level to the mid point ladder landing is 6.3 feet.     b)  Northern Partners Cooperative employees were exposed to fall hazards when accessing the corn pit boot as there was a missing guard rail system at the mid point ladder landing between ground level and the boot floor.  The fall distance from the mid point landing to the boot floor is 5.1 feet.      Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
