29 CFR 1910.272(q)(5): The employer did not equip bucket elevators with a motion detection device which will shut-down the bucket elevator when the belt speed is reduced by no more than 20% of the normal operating speed. On or about December 12, 2011, Meriden Grain Co. used the inside legs that are not equipped with belt speed detectors in a corn blending operation. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
