OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. Employees were exposed to crushing/struck -by hazards associated with the use of automotive lifts: a) The employer did not enforce the use of only accessories approved by the manufacturer of the lifts when vehicles were lifted. b) The employer did not develop a periodic inspection procedure in accordance with the namufacturer's recommendations, with docmentation of each periodic inspection. c) The employer did not develop a periodic planned maintenance procedure in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, with a record of each planned maintenance procedure performed.
