29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): An inspection of the excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems was not conducted by the competent person prior to the start of work and as needed throughout the shift: GMJB Inc. dba G Snow & Sons employees worked in an excavation 4.5 feet deep without performing soil tests or inspecting the site prior to the start of work. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
