Employees sanding and operating the duplicating equipment were required to wear Sperian Survivair half-mask tight-fitting respirators equipped with organic vapor cartridges and N95 prefilters without the benefit of a medical evaluation.

Wipe samples collected from the workplace revealed the presence of lead dust indicating that work operations can generate airborne lead particulates exposing employees to lead hazards.

A wipe sample from the top of the picnic table in the painters area identified lead was present at 344.7 ug/ft2.    (b)	The Carousel Works, Inc., 1285 Pollock Parkway, Mansfield, Ohio:  On or about January 19, 2012, the employer did not ensure that surfaces in the wood carvers area were maintained free of accumulations of lead. A wipe sample from the wood carvers bench identified lead was present at 237.8 ug/ft2.

An employee performing sanding operations was required to wear a Sperian Survivair half-mask tight-fitting respirators equipped with organic vapor cartridges and N95 prefilters and was not required to be clean shaven. The employee had several days beard growth and wore a tight-fitting respirator.
