29 CFR 1910.138(b): The employer did not base selection of appropriate hand protection on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the hand protection relative to the tasks to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the hazards and potential hazards identified: (a) The employer provided Invisible Glove Protective Hand Coating annd SBS 46-C Protective Cream for use by employees who worked with 3M Adhesion Promoter (primer), which contained hazardous chemicals that could be absorbed through the employees' skin, as the employees applied the primer to plastic parts before applying felt tape to the parts. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.

29 CFR 1910.134(c)(2)(ii): The employer did not establish and implement those elements of a written program necessary to ensure that any employee using a respirator voluntarily was medically able to use that respirator, and that the respirator was cleaned, stored, and maintained so that its use does not present a health hazard to the user: (a) Where the employer provided 3M 8516 tight fitting facepiece respirators for voluntary use in the assembly area by employees who applied 3M Adhesion Promoter 4298 UV to plastic parts, the employer did not implement the necessary elements of the company's respiratory protection program, such as physical evaluation, pulmonary function test and training on the care and use of respirators. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET)
