The pair of electrical receptacles were spliced to a temporary flexible cord and were not installed in a enclosure. On or about 01/26/12. 29 CFR 1926.404(b)(1)(i): General. The employer shall use either ground fault circuit interrupters as specified inparagraph (b)(1)(ii) of this section or an assured equipment grounding conductor program as specified in paragraph (b)(1)(iii) of this section toprotect employees on construction sites. These requirements are in addition to any other requirements for equipment grounding conductors.    a) 1st floor, east side:    Employees used an electric powered chop saw to do carpentry work. The chop saw was connected to an extension cord, which was routed to a nearby outlet device and was not provided with a ground fault circuit interrupter. On or about 01/26/12.    Note:  Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the inspection case file, the employer need not submit certification of abatement for this violation as normally required by 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(12): Unprotected sides and edges of stairway landings shall be provided with guardrail systems.Guardrail system criteria are contained in subpart M of this part.[55 FR 47687, Nov. 14, 1990; 56 FR 47689, Jan. 23, 1991; 56 FR 41794, Aug. 23, 1991]    a) 1st floor, east side:    Employees walked and worked at unprotected edges of a stairway landing, which leads to the basement. Guardrails systems were not installed at the unprotected edges of the stairway landing. On or about 01/23/12.    b) 2nd floor, west side:    Employees walked and worked at unprotected edges of a stairway landing, which leads to the 1st floor. Guardrails systems were not installed at the unprotected edges of the stairway landing. On or about 01/23/12.
