29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) Route 206 @ New York Ave., Columbus, NJ: Employees were exposed to fall hazards while installing roofing purlins on the trusses of a large non-residential pole barn. The fall hazard was noted to be greater than 16 feet. The employees were not provided adequate fall protection (PFAS, positioning systems, safety nets, guardrails, etc.) for this site. Observed on or about 01/26/2012.
