29 CFR 1910.24(h):     "Railings and handrails." Standard railings shall be provided on the open sides of all exposed stairways and stair platforms. Handrails shall be provided on at least one side of closed stairways preferably on the right side descending. Stair railings and handrails shall be installed in accordance with the provisions of 1910.23.      a. At the workplace in the Insert Area, on or about 02/22/2012, employees traversed a stairway to access the roof without the protection of a  standard railing. This railing was missing a midrail and did not extend the entire length of the stairs.

One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices,electronic safety devices, etc.    a. At the workplace, in the A1 Area, a Delta Drill Press, Serial #010167,  had a rotating chuck and cutting bit that was inadequately guarded.    b. In the workplace, in the Assembley Area, a Delta-Rockwell Drill Press, Serial #1582882, had a rotating chuck and cutting bit that was inadequately guarded.    c. In the workplace, in the A1 Area, a Reuland Drill Press had a rotating chuck that was inadequately guarded.    d. In the workplace, near the Timecard Station, a Canedy-Otto Drill Press, Serial #J2299, had a cutting bit that was inadequately guarded        The employer, Marlite, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or it's equivalent (1910.212(A)(1)), which was contained in OSHA inspection 311833719, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as final order on May 28th, 2008 with respect to a aorkplace located at 202 Harger St., Dover, Ohio 44622.
