29 CFR 1910.1030(c)(1)(iv)(B): The employer did not document annually consideration and implementation of appropriate commercially available and effective safer medical devices designed to eliminate or minimize occupational exposure. Dental equipment such as retractable syringes present sharp injury hazards to surgical technicians during cleaning and disposal operations performed after surgeries. The employer failed to document the implementation and use of safer medical devices in their exposure control plan. Condition noted on or about 03/08/12 NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000 AS PER CFR 1903.19.
