The developed procedures are vague in that they do not clearly specify the techniques in which lockout operations will be performed and they do not clearly indicate the locations where energy may be isolated (switches, valves, breaker numbers, etc). Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices,electronic safety devices, etc. Jobsite located at 301 South 74th Street; Maintenance Shop: Four pieces of equipment in the area were not equipped with machine guarding to prevent the employees from contacting rotating parts or other injurious movements: a) Hipromac1440 Metal Lathe; no guarding around the rotating chuck. b) Sheldon Metal Lathe; no guarding around the rotating chuck. c) Cadillac Metal Lathe; no guarding around the rotating chuck. d) Delta Drill Press; no guarding around the rotating chuck.
