OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to THE HAZARDS OF CRUSHING OR BEING STRUCK-BY: a) South end of the landfill, on or about 2/27/12: Employees engaged in slope re-covering operations did not use the parking brake and/or a berm to prevent vehicles from rolling over the edge of the slope. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to: Ensure that berms or stop logs are used at the edge of the dumping area. Abatement certification must be submitted for this item.
