MJE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD: 29 CFR 1926.652 (A)(1) WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 310801014, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 2 AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON 06/11/2008 WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 1320 E. COLLEGE AVENUE, NORMAL IL, 61761.

29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems, hazardous atmospheres, or other hazardous conditions: Employees were installing forms for the foundation footings in the excavationat a depth of approximately 13 feet deep. The excavation was not inspected by a competent person before the employees were allowed to enter the working area and the excavation was not sloped, shored, or braced in accordance with the standard. MJE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD: 29 CFR 1926.651 (K)(1) WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 310801014, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 1B AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON 06/11/2008 WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 1320 E.
