29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(4)(iv)(A): Contaminated laundry was unnecessarily handled or was handled with excessive agitation: a) Potentially contaminated laundry from patient treatment areas is handled more than needed in that bagged laundry is placed in carts with bagged regular trash in the patient areas. It is then transported to the compactor room where the laundry is seperated from the trash and then placed into another cart for pick up by a contracted laundry service.
