29 CFR 1910.38(a):     Application. An employer must have an emergency action plan whenever an OSHA standard in this part requires one. The requirements in this section apply to each such emergency action plan.    Employees working inside the facilities were exposed to struck by and fire hazards, in that an emergency action plan was not written and available for the employees to review, in an immediate evacuation or to identify a designated refuge area in the event of a tornado.    29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is completed.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):     Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc.    Employees operating a Duracraft drill press were exposed to struck-by hazards. The employees were exposed in that a safety shield was not available for the employees when using the drill press.    29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is completed.

29 CFR 1910.212(b):     Machines designed for a fixed location shall be securely anchored to prevent walking or moving.    Employees operating a Duracraft drill press were exposed to crushed-by hazards. The employees were exposed in that the drill press was not anchored to the work bench when the employees used the drill press.    29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is completed.

29 CFR 1910.1200(e):     The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written Hazard Communication Program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f),(g) and(h) will be met.    The employees working in the facility were exposed to chemicals such as, cleaning products. A Hazardous Communication Program was not developed for the employees to minimize the exposure to the chemicals.    29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is completed.
